The truth about doing it all
Let’s talk for a minute about that feeling—like you’re carrying too many dreams at once and trying to make sense of it all. You’ve got a heart full of ideas and a head spinning with plans. You’re driven, creative, and passionate, but sometimes, it feels like it’s too much.
I get it. The world tells you to pick one thing, to stick to one lane. But friend, that’s not how God made you, is it? He gave you many talents, many passions, and a desire to create. And while it’s beautiful, it’s also hard.
Let’s unpack this, using some timeless truths to guide us.
1. You Were Created With Purpose
Friend, there’s a reason your heart is drawn to so many things. In Ephesians 2:10, we’re reminded that we are “God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Your talents and passions weren’t given to you by accident. God doesn’t make mistakes, and He didn’t make a mistake in making you multi-passionate. Those ideas in your heart? They’re part of the good works He’s prepared for you.
2. Seasons Have a Purpose, Too
Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” That means you don’t have to do everything all at once, friend.
God works through seasons, and sometimes, He calls us to focus on one thing for a time. Not because the other things don’t matter, but because He knows what’s best for us in the moment. Trust that He’ll guide you to the right passion at the right time.
3. Let Go of the Guilt
Let’s be real—how often do you feel guilty for leaving projects unfinished? Or for not “sticking with” one thing long enough?
Here’s the truth: You’re human, and you’re not called to be perfect. Philippians 1:6 reminds us that “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.” Friend, it’s not all on your shoulders. God is working in you and through you, even when you feel like you’re fumbling your way forward.
The Truth You Need to Hear
Friend, being multi-passionate is a gift. It’s part of how you reflect the Creator Himself—the One who designed sunsets and snowflakes, who made a world full of diversity and beauty. You were made in His image, and that means your creativity is a reflection of Him.
God didn’t give you many passions by accident—He gave them to you on purpose, for His purpose.
But here’s the key: You don’t have to do it all on your own. In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus invites us to rest, saying, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” When the weight of your dreams feels too heavy, let Him carry it with you.
A Few Things to Remember
Seek God First.
Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” When you feel overwhelmed, take it to Him. Ask for clarity, for wisdom, and for peace. You’re Not Defined by Productivity.
Your worth isn’t tied to how much you accomplish. God loves you for who you are, not what you create.Community Matters.
Don’t try to do it all alone, friend. Surround yourself with people who encourage you, who remind you of your purpose, and who pray for you when the load feels heavy.
Friend, I know it’s not easy. Some days, being multi-passionate feels like a blessing, and other days, it feels like a burden. But God doesn’t make mistakes. Your passions have a purpose, and He’s working through you in ways you can’t always see.
So keep going. Keep creating. Keep trusting that He’ll guide you one step at a time. And remember: You don’t have to figure it all out today.
With love,
A fellow multi-passionate creative
